Thirty-two year employee Nancy

Lavoie calls Geiger her work family. “I’ve lit-

erally grown up with this company. I’ve been

able to maintain a healthy work/life balance

and been given multiple opportunities to

stretch myself and grow within the organiza-

tion.” She adds that a number of associates

have been with the company for more than 25

years and nearly 50 percent of the manage-

ment team was promoted from within.

“Geiger is large enough to make big invest-

ments in people, process and technology while

still retaining the family friendly atmosphere,”

says Dale Denham, MAS+, a four-year

employee. Kimberly Beaudin, a 20-year veteran,

says, “We have the best employees. It is truly a

family-owned-and-operated company with

good, old-fashioned values.” Kerry Worden, a

20-year employee adds, “Geiger may be the

oldest privately held promotional marketing

company but it is extremely progressive and

constantly evolving to stay ahead of the

industry trends.” Peter Zeiger, a 14-year

employee, agrees. “They invest heavily in tech-

nology, implement LEAN [creating more

value for customers with fewer resources] and

strive to have strong marketing and branding.

At the same time, they are supportive of their

employees.” Fifteen-year employee Michelle

Williams says it’s the people at Geiger who

make a difference. “From the uppermost levels

of management to each and every associate

throughout the company, we are all a family

and every employee feels they are part of one

big team.”

Geiger has instituted a number of creative ways to recognize and thank employees.

Elements range from a company network page where accomplishments can be showcased, an individual

“Way To Go” award system where employees earn points that can be exchanged for merchandise from the

company store and an annual profit sharing plan to Thanksgiving turkey giveaways, picnics, and Quarterly

Geiger Star and annual President’s Award recognition. Employees who win the latter get their photo on the

wall at the Avenue Of The Stars and it remains there as long as they are employed by Geiger. The distributor

also has its own GOAL (Geiger Outdoor Activity Learning) Center where associates can work with their teams

outside of their work area to focus on improving communication, building trust, fostering a supportive envi-

ronment, and initiating and implementing creative solutions.
