LOVE IS THE GRANDFATHER OF INVENTION
EVEN WITH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS spent developing med-
ical therapies for patients with debilitating diseases, sometimes the sim-
plest fix can make the biggest difference. In 2012, 11-year-old Lily Born
was looking for a way to help her grandfather cope with Parkinson’s
disease, and she came up with
the idea to attach legs to a tum-
bler to help prevent spills. The
end result was the Kangaroo
Cup, which has been funded
through donations from
Kickstarter and Indiegogo. A
ceramic version is available now
through Imagiroo.com, and a
plastic version is in the final
stages of design.

[ CASE STUDY ]
A LARGE SCHOOL SOUGHT a unique, more
personalized item to distribute to students,
so a Back To School tumbler with a blank
‘chalkboard’ decoration was selected.
Students could personalize it with an includ-
ed package of chalk and chalk ink. The tum-
bler’s lid was decorated with a Fresco digital
print to resemble classic marble notebooks,
and the school crest was added to the tum-
bler body.
