time each year to vacation as a family,

and divvy our trips between beach and

more of a rustic outdoors experience,”

he says.

Read on for a glimpse into

Felsenthal’s typical day at the helm of

Public Identity.

5:30 am

I get up, take a quick look at

my emails and respond to anything

hard-pressing, then I quarterback a few

tasks to my team, get ready for work and

am out the door a little before 6; I’m

headed over to the local coffee shop.

6 am

I peruse the

New York Times

and

the

Wall Street Journal

in a quick attempt

to learn what’s gone on in the world in

the past day.

6:20 am

I meet up with my dad to talk

about life and compare daily notes on our

business activities. He is in the construc-

tion and property management business,

so I am continuously learning about

another industry while at the same time

working to hone my skill set in ours.

8 am

I arrive at my desk and begin

fielding new email inquiries and calls,

processing new orders, researching and

quoting clients.

10 am

I walk the office to check in

with as many team members as I can, to

get the pulse of the day and see if I can

contribute in any way.

10:30 am

By now I’m working on busi-

ness development measures, networking,

prospecting and still tackling whatever

else is coming my way in the interim.

Noon

It’s time to grab a quick lunch

before getting right back to work.

4 pm

I check in with various sales

team members and see how their day

has gone, and whether they need any

help or want to discuss any new oppor-

tunities they might have uncovered.

4:30 pm

I check in with my director

of production to get a read on the day

and help work through any pitfalls.

5 pm

I’m headed across town in traffic

to get home, where I’ll play with my girls

and have story time and twinkle-twinkles

(“Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star”).

7 pm

I enjoy dinner with my wife and

the time to unwind and catch each other

up on our whirlwind days.

As we work with so many different industries, I really enjoy the small glimpses

we are afforded into the inner workings of how various companies go to market.
