PPAI 897646 Vinyform PPAI 100814 Beth Greenlaw (at right) CEO Sea Bags PPAI 896728 SeaBags.com How did your company get its start? Sea Bags began in 1999 on Portland, Maine’s working waterfront with a simple but powerful idea: to give new life to retired sailboat sails. What started as a hobby has grown into a female-founded brand built thoughtfully on sustainability, craftsmanship and community. From the beginning, our mission has been to keep sails out of landfills, create jobs locally and be good stewards to our community, and we remain committed to those core tenets. Since our founding, we have repurposed 1.5 million pounds of sail cloth. That’s enough to cover 70 football fields! And we take in approximately 8,000-10,000 sails at our warehouse annually. Our products were born of Maine’s maritime heritage, and to this day we celebrate the history embodied in every sail we repurpose. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? We see the promotional products market as a natural opportunity to deepen relationships, grow customer base and expand national visibility. Brands are seeking high-quality, meaningful products that tell a story, and our sustainable, madein-USA bags and accessories fit that need. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry? What I love about the promotional products industry is the ability to make a creative and lasting impact on another business. It goes beyond placing logos on products – it’s about branding and storytelling with products that people covet and use every day. Guided by our team’s expertise and exceptional design skills, our customers love the one-of-akind pieces we create that reflect their brand in a way that’s sustainable, durable and memorable. Why did you join PPAI? We joined PPAI to connect with companies that value quality, creativity and true craftsmanship. Every Sea Bag is handmade in the USA from recycled sails, and because no two pieces of sailcloth are alike, each bag carries its own character and story. For Sea Bags, this industry isn’t just B2B – it’s people-to-people, with each relationship being unique. Being part of PPAI allows us to build meaningful connections, share our story on a larger stage and continue offering products that companies can be proud to give and recipients will treasure.
