SPONSORED CONTENT Driving Industry Standards: BELLA+CANVAS Strengthens Commitment to People, Planet, & Product BELLA+CANVAS, a Los Angelesbased leader in the apparel industry, has long prioritized social responsibility and sustainability across their supply chain and production. With the release of their 2024 Impact Report, BELLA+CANVAS has reinforced their commitment to people, products, and the planet with baselines and metrics that showcase social and environmental progress. The report draws data from their landmark Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), marking a significant milestone in the company’s sustainability efforts. This comprehensive evaluation examined the environmental impacts across their products’ entire lifecycle— from raw material extraction through production, distribution, use, and endof-life management. In a study of ten BELLA+CANVAS best-selling products, the results were compelling and found that the ten styles assessed outperform conventional apparel alternatives and offer a lower impact alternative to conventional options. On average, the ten BELLA+CANVAS styles assessed: • Produce 51% less textile waste material during production. • Have a 27% lower carbon footprint. • Use 30% less fossil fuel resources. • Require 33% less water use, taking local water scarcity into account. Some additional key highlights from their 2024 Impact Report include: • Earning Fair Labor Association (FLA) Accreditation after a rigorous five-year process validating their commitment to ethical labor practices and worker rights across their global supply chain. • Providing opportunities for their employees to advance professional development through training and education, including over 105,000 annual training hours in 2024 and 50 employees who graduated from educational degree programs. • Organizing five health fairs for employees and their families in Central America, where local medical and dental resources were offered at no cost to employees, their families, and the local community. • Donating over $500,000 in monetary and in-kind donations to support philanthropic causes around the world, including a partnership with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) operations in Tanzania. • Completing their first Greenhouse Gas Inventory, measuring Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions for their global operations and setting a baseline for building future reduction targets related to their environmental impact. • Investing in solar projects at two of their facilities, leveraging renewable energy to power their operations and reduce their carbon footprint. • Earning Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification for their EcoMax Tee, redefining the landscape of sustainability-focused apparel made from 100% recycled materials. “For over 25 years, BELLA+CANVAS has put social responsibility at the heart of our business operations,” said Norm Hullinger, President. “We are committed to conducting business in a socially responsible and ethical manner, supporting human rights, and engaging, respecting, and supporting the communities and cultures with which we work.
