This Halloween, people embraced the quirky by dressing up as their go-to drink tumbler or favorite takeout order. Target’s Stanley Tumbler-inspired getup and Chipotle’s hilariously on-brand collection – complete with a burrito, fork and more – found themselves in the costume spotlight on Oct. 31. 1. Target Sells Stanley Tumbler-inspired Costume Retail giant Target hopped on the Stanley Tumbler craze for Halloween with a life-sized costume mimicking the popular drinkware. In 2024, the retail product-turned-cultural phenomenon has been all over the news, dominating TikTok trends and sparking Target sellouts (and near-stampedes) with every new color drop. This year, adults and kids alike dressed up as everyone’s favorite drink accessory with the retailer’s exclusive Stanleyinspired Tumbley Pop-Up costume. The simple costume transformed wearers into a pop-up blue vinyl cup with a built-in handle and straw, making it a party or parade standout to “quench everyone’s thirst for fun this Halloween.” Target already offers a variety of Stanley cups and accessories online, so it’s only fitting that it added a costume inspired by the popular tumbler. However, the getup wasn’t officially licensed, hence its “Tumbley” name – and at $35, the Tumbley Pop-Up costume cost less than a 40-oz. Stanley Tumbler. IMAGE: Target 68 • DECEMBER 2024 • PPAI
