Community | Buzzworthy Mixing Merch Big brands continue to team up for creative collaboration through eye-catching promotional products campaigns. Compiled by Nicole Rollender & John Corrigan 1. Liquid Death x Yeti Drop Casket Collab Just when you thought you’d seen the more unique brand collaborations out there, Liquid Death and Yeti teamed up to auction off a sinister Casket Cooler just in time for the Halloween spooky season. The brands noted that the Casket Cooler was built “with Yeti’s heavy-duty, patented T-Latch lid locks and Triple Foam ColdCell Technology to keep your cans cold for an eternity.” And talk about creating major FOMO – the two brands decided to auction off this one-of-a-kind coffin cooler, with Yeti and Liquid Death branding, to the highest bidder. To create macabre hype, Yeti and Liquid Death released a creepy video of the Casket Cooler, saying, “It’s not just a casket. It’s a revolutionary beverage cooler.” An undertaker in a funeral home asks a crying couple, “Is this to your satisfaction?” After the couple replies that the casket is “perfect,” the undertaker intones to viewers that if they want to get their hands on the cooler, they better do it now. 2. Daaaamn, Yankees! The New York Yankees made fashion moves beyond their usual pinstripes this fall, teaming up with lifestyle brand New York or Nowhere on a limited-edition collaboration in partnership with New Era Cap and Major League Baseball. The co-branded collection includes 49 kids’ and adult headwear and apparel, merging the classic elements of the Yankees brand with NYON’s aesthetic. “The Yankees have always been on our list of dream collaborators, and to see this project come to life is truly surreal,” says Liz Eswein and Quincy Moore, NYON co-founders. The launch campaign, starring Yankees legend Mariano Rivera and captured by photographer Jonathan Mannion, deepens the project’s connection to the team’s history while broadening its appeal across generations of fans. The collection is available at select locations, including Yankee Stadium, the MLB Store on 6th Ave., NYON’s flagship in Nolita, and online at newyorkornowhere.com. 70 • NOVEMBER 2024 • PPAI
