How did your company get its start? Our family came to Canada as immigrants in 1971, as they had to flee Uganda due to safety. My dad started to work at Big K Clothing, which was a manufacturer of apparel for men and boys. After a few months, my dad started to run the company and eventually bought it. I joined the business in 2001 and decided to import safety and protective clothing. Since 2001, we have become one of the leaders in the industry supplying the construction, forestry, mining and oil and gas industries What led your company to enter the promotional products market? The promotional market has always been of interest to us, as there is always a need for branded items. We wanted to bring our products and knowledge into this industry to bring awareness of how important it is to keep visible and safe. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry? Meeting new and existing customers as well as seeing the newest products. Why did you join PPAI? We joined PPAI because of the reach it has within this industry, enabling us to connect with partners and maximize our possibilities.
