PPAI • JULY 2024 • 77 SPONSORED CONTENT DECORATIVE SERVICES Where The Latest Decorating Technology Meets The Finest Customer Service WHEN A PRODUCT’S IMPRINT is crisp and lawless, and the message is powerful, the marketing strength of promotional products is fully optimized. That’s where Joe Zuniga and his company, Decorative Services, come in. The Oceanside, California-based contract decorator rises to this type of challenge daily. From humble beginnings working at a Los Angeles-based printing company more than 30 years ago, Zuniga honed his skills and took on additional responsibilities until he was not only operating the printing company, but also running a second company under the same owner. When the businesses were later sold, Zuniga realized he had the talent to open his own printing company. He moved to San Diego and launched Decorative Services in 1991. At that time, the company provided high-quality printing solutions to the manufacturing sector. But as the industry shifted overseas in the early 2000s, Decorative Services adapted to the promotional products market and found its foothold as a reliable source for screen printing, foil stamping and pad printing. Over the years, as product decoration demands evolved, the company expanded to add laser etching and engraving for precise details on wood, metal, plastic, glass and marble; pad printing for 3D objects; digital UV printing for vibrant colors; heat transfer; debossing and, most recently, direct to ilm (DTF) printing for apparel decorating. Today, the company is home to 25 employees, including the second generation of the Zuniga family: daughter Adrienne Zuniga-Summers, director of operations, who brought organizational skills to the company, and son Jay Zuniga, who added pro iciency in operations, system ef iciency and work optimization. These skills brought process experience that increased the company’s ef iciency. Decorative Services prides itself on leading with the latest technology and being at the forefront of the DTF movement. “If we stay ahead on technology, customers will come to us,” says Zuniga, who has customers who have been with the company for more than 25 years. But Zuniga’s commitment goes far beyond turning out picture-perfect product decoration. “We’re passionate about creating a smooth and comfortable experience for the customer. Service is where we really shine,” he says. “Our dedicated team works closely with the distributor to understand his or her vision and translate it into a successful printed product. As many of our happy customers will tell you, we prioritize clear communication and top-notch service throughout the entire process.” The secret from start to inish is a streamlined process and an experienced team. When an order comes in, it is quoted, and the product is photographed and moved to the art department. Next, a purchase order is generated, and the product goes into production. A proof is then sent to the customer for approval. Once approved, the products are printed, boxed and shipped. If customers need ful illment, an in-house dedicated team can handle that step too, including assembling thousands of addresses and generating mailing labels. “Apart from the printing, we make it easy for customers to go through the process with the least amount of stress,” says Zuniga. “We’ve been around for over 30 years, and we understand the trials and tribulations of when a customer is in a rush situation. We try very hard not to let a customer fail.” Joe Zuniga and Trini, who will be the third-generation leader of Decorative Services.
