Community | PPPC Communiqué Awards Season PPPC will celebrate the industry’s top achievers with its Awards Ceremony and After-Party at NATCON this fall. By Margaret Williamson Batuszkin THE PROMOTIONAL PRODUCT PROFESSIONALS of Canada will hold its annual PPPC Awards Ceremony and After-Party in Toronto on September 10, during the association’s national convention (NATCON 2024). Over 30 awards will recognize PPPC members for their excellence in the industry. Winners will be revealed and will receive a premium trophy from St Regis during the awards ceremony. PPPC Chair Paul Wieleba, owner of WE Promotional Advertising, will return as a co-host for this year’s ceremony. Award categories include: • “Best of the year” recognition for suppliers, multi-line reps and distributors, as voted by fellow PPPC members. • Product award categories for distributors and suppliers. • Speciality awards for the PPPC Hall of Fame and the Humanitarian and Momentum Award winners. Distributors vote for suppliers in the following categories: • Supplier of the Year – Small Enterprise • Supplier of the Year – Medium Enterprise • Supplier of the Year – Large Enterprise • Eastern Multi-line Agency of the Year • Central Multi-line Agency of the Year • Western Multi-line Agency of the Year • Sales Representative of the Year • Customer Service Representative of the Year Suppliers and multi-line reps vote for distributors in the following categories: • Eastern Distributor of the Year – Small Enterprise, Medium Enterprise and Large Enterprise • Central Distributor of the Year – Small Enterprise, Medium Enterprise and Large Enterprise • Western Distributor of the Year – Small Enterprise, Medium Enterprise and Large Enterprise • National Distributor of the Year The Speciality Awards include the Hall of Fame, Humanitarian and Momentum Awards. The first PPPC Hall of Fame Award was given to the late Roger Gagnon in 1981. PPPC continues to induct new members into the prestigious Hall of Fame in recognition of their excellence and positive impact on our industry. The judging panel for this award comprises previous PPPC Hall of Fame inductees, including last year’s honoree, Merrick Falkenstein, chief revenue officer of St Regis, who was named the 37th Hall of Fame inductee. The Humanitarian Award goes to a member who demonstrates the spirit of humanity through volunteer work, advocacy, leadership and philanthropic work in their community or around the world. Members are nominated by someone within their organization for these awards and voted on by a panel of judges based on a set list of criteria. PPPC has been awarding the Humanitarian Award since 2018, and last year’s recipient was Brianna Mazze, EP, VP of compliance and sustainability for St Regis. The Momentum Award recognizes individuals in the industry who are rising stars and making an impact in our ever-changing industry. Williamson Batuszkin is PPPC marketing and communications manager.
