I am an inventor, and my patent attorney, Rob Greenspoon, and I launched this in 2017. The idea came about in 2009 at the Chicago Marathon. We knew everyone hated safety pins and there had to be a better way. Everything was new in terms of endurance with shoes and breathable fabrics, but during events they were still using the rusty old safety pins. We knew it was time to introduce something new. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? We started to see brands asking us if we worked with their promo distributors. At the same time, we noticed a lot of promotional sales reps were runners and cyclists. We did our first PPAI show in 2020, just about a month before the pandemic. We had over 250 people stop by and tell us this was the best idea of the show. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry? The best part is seeing that the reps and companies like new and innovative ideas to show and get interest of the buyers and brands. They totally get it. Their ability to put sales pitches and go out and cultivate interest is key. They are professional salespeople, and by bringing us to buyers they are giving them something new. Why did you join PPAI? To be plugged directly into the social pipeline in the promotional products industry and to gain access and credibility with promo companies.
