Day Owl was founded by Ian Rosenberger, founder and CEO of First Mile, an organization that works in Haiti, Honduras and Taiwan to produce sustainable polyester from recycled waste and support local jobs and communities. Day Owl was established under the premise that being profitable and sustainable are not mutually exclusive. We aim to showcase how companies can incorporate sustainable and equitable practices to create a thriving business for everyone involved. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? Approaching growth from a B2B-first strategy allows us to invest more in the company versus spending on direct-to-consumer advertising. We can offer more products faster and grow our direct-to-consumer business in a more organic way based around word of mouth. Promo is integral in this approach. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry? The connections we make. Having been in the industry for just under a decade, some of my closest friendships have been found and developed through my work and travels in this industry. Why did you join PPAI? Why wouldn’t we? PPAI is a brand standard for the promotional products industry. Membership is both a prerequisite and huge benefit for any emerging brand seeking to grow meaningfully in the industry.
