Members enjoyed reconnecting with their American counterparts andmaking new international connections. By Margaret Williamson Batuszkin PROMOTIONAL PRODUCT PROFESSIONALS OF CANADA members and staff were thrilled to kick off the New Year with their postpandemic return to The PPAI Expo 2023 in January. PPPC members traveled from across Canada to partake in one of the industry’s most-anticipated annual events. Many were also excited to escape the cold Canadian weather to enjoy warmer temperatures south of the border in Las Vegas. According to PPPC President and CEO Jonathan N. Strauss, returning to The PPAI Expo this year enabled members to reconnect with many of their American counterparts and make new international connections while previewing the latest promotional products that suppliers were launching at the show. PPPC members were able to meet in person once again with suppliers to network and view their top promotional wares, as well as enjoy many social events, including a special reception on opening day for international attendees. It was a great opportunity to connect, do business and share industry knowledge and experience with other promotional products professionals from around the world. This year also marked the first time PPPC members attended Promopalooza – a definite highlight. PPPC hosted an exclusive member event on January 10 at Rhythm and Riffs at Mandalay Bay that was sponsored by SAGE, PPAI, Tough Duck, DML, Kanata Blanket, Faro, Soft Stuff Creations and Botanical PaperWorks. Guests got a taste of some Canadian fun and style with delicious drinks, light snacks and lively conversations. Event lanyards courtesy of DML served as tickets to enter the event, and the first 90 guests received Buffalo Plaid Aviator Hats courtesy of Tough Duck that were the talk of the event. PPPC’s booth (3436) on the trade show floor drew fanfare from attendees, as visitors were treated to a number of Canadian-inspired giveaways, including a cuddly Howie Black Bear from Soft Stuff Creations and a comfy buffalo check cabin throw courtesy of Kanata Blanket to the first 50 booth visitors.
