How did your company get its start? We started manufacturing in Mexico in 1986, supplying sporting garments to major retailers in the country such as Walmart—known locally as Aurrera, Suburbia and Gigante. In 1994, as the internal market in Mexico experienced a crisis, we became a manufacturer for known brands such as Adidas, Nike and DuPont. In 2001, we focused on the workwear, uniform and corporate apparel niche and experienced double- digit growth for several years. In 2019, as we had already expanded to 16 cities throughout Mexico, we decided to register our U.S. branch, Lazzar USA, and opened our first U.S. location to supply the best and most competitive market on the planet with our products. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? We were seeking new distributors for our Lazzar brand. We specialize in high-quality, durable and comfortable workwear and corporate apparel. We are working with several U.S. distributors, mainly in Texas, Alabama, California and New York, and we have set up our website so distributors can see our real-time, in-stock inventory and purchase immediately. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional product industry? You get to know new and great entrepreneurial people, and I think everywhere there’s new opportunities and great experiences in the industry. Why did you join PPAI? We want to find the best partners in the industry to develop and offer our brand to U.S. customers, and I think PPAI is the right place to do that.
