Wristbands America began in 2005 during the “Livestrong” wristband craze. The original owner thought people would want other messages in this format—many with a preference for a U.S.A.-made, lead-free version of the product. Around 2013, his focus shifted away from wristbands, but the business continued via the markets he established—including the promotional products industry, which is where I first came across it. Wristbands America is a small company with a 40-piece minimum, offering same-day production. We sell only through authorized distributors. Our wristbands are 100-percent made in the U.S.A. from 100-percent silicon. “MADE IN USA” is embossed on the inside of every wristband. Our decorating processes are either deeply debossed or screen printed. We have a showroom display available at no charge. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? I started in the “specialty advertising” industry as a distributor in Houston, Texas, in 1981—back when distributors had five-digit numbers, suppliers had four and the Register was a set of hard-bound books that came out quarterly.
