Founder Peggy Brewster has been needlepointing for 50-plus years. She wanted a way to make needlepoint kits from photos, and then thought others might want them, too. I came on in 2011 when Peggy and her kids realized they did not have time to run the company, so they gave me half. She still owns 17 percent of the company. We started out designing custom needlepoint kits; it evolved into a full-service needlepoint business that now includes men’s gifts. In 2011, we were doing $30,000 a year and this year we’re on track to do well over $600,000. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? Our customers have shown their products to their local golf pro shops and schools, which led to us selling into the golf business and school gift stores. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry? I love the way our products look when they are done. Why did you join PPAI? We have not done any outreach; all of our accounts have come to us over the internet. We are interested in displaying our products at trade shows where buyers are looking for higher-quality goods.
