How did your company get its start? In 1992, a small gift shop opened its doors in Ocean County, New Jersey. After getting multiple requests from customers to design a selection of seasonal gifts, we embarked on a mission to create an upscale, yet affordable collection of gift baskets to satisfy our retail and corporate customers alike. What began as a retail gift store has transformed into Broadway Basketeers Gift Baskets. Family-owned and operated for all of our 25 years, Broadway Basketeers has become synonymous with high-quality, distinctive and memorable gift arrangements that are reasonably priced and kosher, certified by the OK Kosher Laboratories. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? We entered the promotional products industry because we believe there is an opportunity for us to add value in what could be perceived as an “underserved” market. We’re here because we want to make a difference and by being different, customer-centric and flexible in our model, we will help our distributor partners win their fair share of business in 2019 and beyond. According to the research company Packaged Facts, “Corporate food gifting presently enjoys noticeable momentum as it is buoyed by positive employment trends and corporate gift giving and gift spend trends. Corporate food sales are also benefitting from companies creating gift baskets designed specifically to appeal to those in the business world.” Its survey results further suggest that work anniversaries and thank-you gestures also generate food gifting sales. Since food gifters demand high quality, trust and value, food gift marketers that cannot deliver on freshness, quality and organizational excellence will see gifters go elsewhere.
