NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT How did your company get its start? Dec-O-Art was founded in 1971 by Charles Dosmann. He opened a tiny print shop, hoping to earn enough money to support his family of nine children. We have been growing and innovating ever since, staying on the cutting edge of branding technology. Charles’s sons and grandchildren now run the company. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? We did a great deal of unique, dimensional branding for OEM manufacturers’ products to help them stand out from the competition. We realized that we could utilize our existing talent and technology to help customers incorporate the same eye-catching decoration into the promotional items that they offer, thereby improving the consistency of their brands and enabling them to present a unique look that attracts attention. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry? We take great pride in helping customers make the most of their brands by elevating them to the next level. Companies come to us with a basic logo, and we brainstorm to figure out what unique touches we can add to enhance their emblems, such as matte or metallic elements, dimension or custom textures. We love the reaction customers have when they see the final emblems that we produce for them. Why did you join PPAI? We joined PPAI because we are serious about being a part of, and contributing to, the promotional products industry. We quickly understood the value that membership provides to individual companies and the industry as a whole. We wanted to be a part of that community.
