Grassley’s stop at Vernon was part of his efforts to visit with constituents while the Senate was not in session. by James Khattak Maine Senator Tours Geiger HQ, Meets With Leadership And Staff U.S. Sen. Angus King (I-ME) paid a visit to distributor Geiger’s (PPAI 105182) headquarters in Lewiston, Maine, on May 29 to tour the facility, meet with staff and share his thoughts on Washington. King closed out his visit with a meeting with about 40 of the company’s staff members, during which he shared his perspective on why politics has become so polarized in D.C. and how he tries to break down the barriers. King’s visit began with a look at the solar array the company installed in 2017 and a discussion around the company’s sustainability efforts. As the owner of the largest business solar array in Maine, Geiger generates 100 percent of its annual electricity needs on-site, and 100 percent of its product shipments are carbon neutral, as the company offsets the carbon required to deliver packages. The senator also toured the company’s facility, spoke with its web development team and met with senior management. Staff at that meeting elaborated on issues of concern to the company, such as import tariffs on goods it sells, independent contractors’ status and the shortage of skilled labor. STAHLS’ Provides Heat Printing On Demand For NFL Draft A team from supplier STAHLS’ (PPAI 189660) was behind the scenes at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in April for the televised 2018 NFL Draft. In two minutes or less from the time a player was drafted to when he crossed the stage to shake hands with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, STAHLS’ three-person team created a personalized jersey with the player’s name in the team’s font and color, for Goodell to present to the player. This is the seventh consecutive year that STAHLS’ Decorating Fulfillment Center (DFC), in Masontown, Pennsylvania, has teamed with long-time client and NFL official uniform provider Nike to commemorate the special moment in real time. The process that STAHLS’ team, led by Brent Kisha, director of decorating technology advancement-apparel division (center), put in place involved extensive preparation and backup from the DFC staff to enable fast, correct printing in the limited footprint of the “jersey room” directly behind the stage. Iowa Senator Visits Vernon Company Headquarters U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) visited with employees of distributor Vernon Company (PPAI 109323), headquartered in Newton, Iowa, in May.
