The PPEF Glen Holt Scholarship Golf Invitational drew 31 teams of four to enjoy a game in the pleasant 60-degree weather. Promotional products business and sales software provider commonsku hosted its fifth annual skucon conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, in conjunction with The PPAI Expo 2018. Targeted at “innovators, explorers and dreamers,” skucon doubled the size of its attendance over last year and featured a record number of speakers, according to event organizers. commonsku Hosts Fifth Annual skucon Conference skucon was held at “The Venue,” located on Fremont Street in historic downtown Las Vegas, and drew speakers from within and outside the promotional products industry. The one-day event offered attendees six credits toward their CAS or MAS designation. skucon featured startup expert April Dunford, author of the upcoming book Obviously Awesome – How to Stand Out in Noisy Crowded Markets , and a former vice president of marketing for global companies including IBM and Nortel. In her session, she shared how context can be a critical factor in getting your company noticed. Mark Graham, co-founder and chief platform officer at commonsku, speaks during the skucon conference. He says, “Each year, the event grows larger, and I think that speaks to the hunger of the entrepreneurial spirit in this community.” 84 | MARCH 2018 | CONNECT PPEF Benefits FromExpo Attendees’ Support Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) hosted its annual fundraiser, the Glen Holt Scholarship Golf Invitational at The PPAI Expo 2018, raising net proceeds of more than $50,000 for the foundation. At Expo, PPEF also brought back its Branch Out & Give Tree. By the end of the show, the Branch Out & Give Tree had collected more than $5,000 through on-site and online donations.
