She was 70. Novotny worked in sales for more than 35 years, first with Heritage Company selling office supplies and advertising merchandise. When it was acquired by HALO, she continued with the distributor as a sales executive. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hays, Kansas, Novotny was active in T.O.P.S., VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Russell-Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She also volunteered with the American Heart Association. Novotny is survived by her husband Edmo; sister Gloria Clark and her husband, Charles; sister Elsie Felker; sister-in-law Lottie Coody; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the American Heart Association or Russell Regional Hospital Campaign For Excellence and sent in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas.
