I am humbled and thrilled to be given this kind of support. It is not just the monetary contribution entrusted to me, but freedom I have gained through it to adjust my workload to a healthier lifestyle and obtain my goals. I do not know you personally, nor may I ever have the honor to meet you, but I’m grateful for your dedication in giving back to help students like me become successful. I hope to offer that same opportunity in the years to come.” Jennifer Diaz One-Year Scholarship 2017 “I am thankful to be a recipient of one of the scholarships that you make possible. I am a firm believer that I am a product of those who have invested their time, energy and resources in me. So, thank you for investing in me. Every day I will strive to make that investment worthwhile. “This scholarship has taken a huge weight off not only me, but my entire family. With my younger brother also in college, the financial aspect of school has become increasingly demanding and stressful. People like you allow me to focus more on my education and dreams, and less on how I am going to afford them.” Anthony Carson One-Year Scholarship 2017 “I have tried to do my best in all parts of my life and take advantage of the opportunities provided me. I am so grateful to be recognized for my efforts and awarded this meaningful contribution. I will use this scholarship in full appreciation of the generosity of PPEF. “I like to be self-reliant and a large part of that is staying out of debt, which is quite difficult for a student these days, but the generous donors that fund this scholarship have helped me greatly in my goal. This scholarship does more than just provide some money; it also has given me the gift of time. My current job pays $10 an hour and this scholarship has effectively given me an extra 200 hours to devote toward studying and volunteering. The saved time is especially valuable for me because I have dyslexia, so it takes me more time than the average student to complete school assignments.
