Giving Back Comes Full Circle
“He is like the Rosetta Stone of our industry, teaching
language, terminology, sales, marketing, trends, etc., to
people who need to know and rely on peer-to-peer educa-
tion,” says nominator Joel Schaffer, MAS, president of
SOUNDLINE. “It is a selfless contribution made in over-
whelming volume.”
Despite all of this acclaim, Kiewiet remains humble and
grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the indus-
try and in people’s lives. “I am proud of the fact that I helped
people feel good about promotional products,” he says. “It
was wonderful and awesome to see how the industry
responded to my ideas.”
Prizing People
Through the years, Kiewiet’s creativity and vision have
yielded many accolades, including nine PPAI Pyramid Awards;
the Society of National Association Publications’ Excel Award
for Writing Excellence; a President’s Award from the National
Premium Sales Executives; a Golden Key Award from the
Incentive Manufacturers Representatives Association; and a
Folio Award for Outstanding Magazine Article (
PPB
magazine,
“Take a Bite Out of Other Advertising Media”).
Having achieved so much, Kiewiet has a lot to be proud of
but what he prizes most is making a difference in people’s
lives. “Above everything, inspiring people is what my ‘why’ is
about,” he says. “I try to challenge and inspire people so they
realize their full potential. I want to make sure everything I do
aligns with that goal.”
