How did your company get its start?
East Coast Umbrella’s owner Darrell Day started this business in his
living room after having worked at a major outdoor furniture factory.
Since 1988, the company has manufactured umbrellas and cushions
in its 68,000-square-foot facility in Laurel Hill, North Carolina.
The company focuses primarily on patio and beach umbrellas,
but its manufactured line extends to custom outdoor furniture
cushions in acrylic and vinyl mesh. It also offers Outdura brand fab-
rics and has partnerships with MiYu Furniture and Florida Patio
Furniture. Its line includes models in fiberglass, wood and heavy-
duty commercial-grade aluminum.
