Buzzworthy | Community 2. X Launches Official Branded Merch Store Elon Musk’s X platform has launched its official merchandise store – the “X Merch Store” – offering branded apparel and accessories, including logoed T-shirts and hats. The store opened with a black T-shirt “designed for fit, comfort and style” and a lightweight black trucker cap. Both items are available for preorder, with delivery expected in December and January, each priced at $35. X announced that more products will be added to its online store. The oversized, boxy-fit Unisex 3D X Logo Short Sleeve Tee, made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane, features an understated X logo on the left chest. The 3D Logo Trucker Hat features a bold 3D X logo on the front and an adjustable snapback closure. Designed with a breathable mesh backing and curved visor, the hat is available in one size. While the launch includes just these two products, more items are expected under Musk’s ownership of X. His Tesla brand, which is known for its popular merchandise, sets the stage for what’s to come. However, Musk’s cost-cutting strategies have been controversial. In early 2023, California-based distributor Canary filed a lawsuit claiming that X, previously known as Twitter, owed over $390,000 for unpaid orders, including a $6,783.99 swag box intended for Musk. The lawsuit highlighted unpaid invoices dating back to 2013, with Canary having provided over $10 million worth of Twitter-branded products. Twitter has requested additional time to investigate the claims, which adds to the growing list of legal challenges the company has faced since Musk’s acquisition.
