I spent over 25 years in the fashion industry working with Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Express and Nine West. I was always aware of the wastefulness of packaging. In 2019, when New York started making noise about banning single-use plastic bags, I decided it was time to up the ante in terms of a new approach to foldaway bags that could be used every day as a modern solution. BYBBA (Bring Your Bag Back Around) is for every design- and quality-obsessed person. Our hope is to keep plastic and single-use shopping bags out of people’s hands and, ultimately, our oceans. We’re on a mission to replace disposable shopping bags with modern and sustainable alternatives, donating 5% of profits to our charity partner, Oceanic Global. What led your company to enter the promotional products market? The promotional market found us. Distributors looking for new ideas were naturally drawn to our unique point of view on sustainable materials, modern design and lasting quality. The fact that we’re female-founded also caught the attention of some curious players in the industry. What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry? We’re excited to add our layer of innovation and cause. Our main goal is to replace disposable products that end up in landfills and the ocean. We’re really focused on quality, design and responsible manufacturing as our core tenets and love working with businesses that are likeminded and want to echo this ethos. Why did you join PPAI? We saw it as a great way to access the market. As newcomers, we exhibited for the first time at The PPAI Expo earlier this year in Las Vegas. We couldn’t wait to share our product line and meet more of the players who are driving the industry. Pam Seidman CEO BYBBA PPAI 823542 BYBBA.com PPAI • APRIL 2024 • 85
